Our tradition

The Bar da Alberto was founded in 1946 by Alberto, who at the time was a pastry chef on the legendary italian transatlantic Rex, awarded in 1933 with the Blue Ribbon for the record on the route Gibilterra - New York. The activity was managed by Alberto until the first 70’s and then by Giovanni, his son, until the end of the 80’s. In 1989, the administration of the Bar passed to Gianna and their son Alberto. In the last few years, his wife Stefania joined them at the head of the activity. The Bar, during the years, kept its family management and became the pastry shop of reference of Capri thanks to the best manpower and raw materials. That’s why there is no family on the island that never bought a tray of pastries of the Bar Alberto, as Sunday tradition wants. The activity, faithful to its origins, is open 24 hours in Summer, to welcome people after going clubbing, and all year long, to cheer up the islanders during the winter............
